The Homework That Someone Else Will Be Doing
Using at least 5 different types of materials (paints, pencils, pens, beads, etc.) make one portrait of someone. It could be yourself, or someone whose in your family or your friend. It could even be someone from your imagination. Afterwards take three pictures and post one to your blog, with a 1-2 paragraphs about how you completed the task/the different materials/why you used what you used etc.

Taking Photographs
The pictures that I took these last few days (well, more than a few) were of a cup of tea, and a book. It was difficult in different ways, but it was easier in others. It was kind of hard to have to take so many pictures of one little thing. I thought it was fun, but it took a lot of time for me to do it, probably a couple hours.
For taking pictures of the teacup, it took a little bit of time just to set it up. I made some tea that I thought was pretty, and to add the the tea-y look I put it in a pretty cup and saucer with biscuits. I couldn't figure out to turn the flash off, for a little while, until I figured it out. So the flash would reflect and make it look kind of funny, in my opinion. It took a while to find different perspectives and find ways to try and make each photo a little different.
For my next set of pictures, I took pictures of a book called Twilight and I did that because I thought it might be cool to take some pictures of the different words and stuff. I turned it to a page that I liked, and I turned a spotlight on it and sometimes changed the different places the light was shining to add shadows.
I thought this assignment was fun, but it also took some time.

Marc Adamus Pictures
These are m top ten pictures taken by Marc Adamus:
1. I like the way the mist seems to pop out, and how it seems to be floating over the rocks and water.
2. I really like how this almost looks like an abstract painting or drawing.
3. I think the way the log (or whatever it is) seems to curve through the picture.
4. Like the first, I really like how the mist pops out. I also think it adds a mysterious aspect to the image, and I think it looks really interesting how the trees are almost like silhouettes, and how the fade into the background.
5. I like how there seems to be a mist rising from the ground, and how there's such a contrast between the dark wood, and the light dirt ground.
6. I like how it seems the mist is almost part of the water, and how it seems to be all moving toward the end of the tunnel.
7. I think the sky looks very beautiful in this picture, I also really like how the purple flowers look with the sun setting (or rising?) behind them.
8. I like the isolation of the tree in this picture. It stand out, and with the pink and white sky behind it, it looks absolutely gorgeous.
9. Like the second picture, I like how this one seems like an abstract painting.
10. I like this reminds me of the dinosaur movies "The Land Before Time", and the how the tree has so much shape to it.
Marc Adamus Summary
Marc Adamus mostly takes his photos in the Northwestern area. He is a landscape photographer, and I noticed in his work that there seems to be a something that sticks out in the picture. Sometimes it's mist or fog, and sometimes it's the reflection on water. Most of what I've seen his photos be of, are things likes mountains, water, stones, rivers, trees and flowers. There's been pictures of deserts, forests, fields of flowers and even ocean waves on rocks. I think he highlights different colors in each picture, but I've noticed in several images that he brings out the pinks, purples and whites in several of his pictures.

Marc Adamus
By: Tienna Brusett
This essay is about a man named Marc Adamus. He is a professional landscape photographer, and he has had his pictures in a large variety of things. Such as calendars, magazines, and books.
Adamus lives in Corvallis, Oregon. I think that’s kind of cool, because he lives near me. He takes most of his pictures in Oregon and the Northwest area. That seems to strange to me, because his pictures are so gorgeous, and look like they should be coming from all over the world.
Adamus said “It’s not about where you are, it’s about how you see.” and that kind of struck me, because I think that’s true. You could be taking a picture of somewhere you walk by and to someone else, it just a dull cluster of trees, or patch of flowers, but to someone else they see it as a masterpiece created by nature.
Adamus’ goal is to capture the magnificence and beauty of our multi-dimensional world the best he can with his camera, and to illustrate all of the rich moments he’s experienced. Although he thinks it’s not possible to capture the entire essence of where he is, but he does his best to capture the beauty the best he can.
He thinks that the most important quality of a picture is that it causes an emotional response. I think that makes sense; although I’ve never thought of it that way. It can be hard to show emotion in a photograph, because while Adamus feels it, he has to portray that in his photos.
Marc Adamus has a passion for taking photograph, and I really enjoy his photos. I hope that you will be able to see them and enjoy them as much as I have.

Stranger Danger!
I was thinking of taking pictures of people trick or treating, but I never got to it, because not many people came to my house. So I took some pictures of the employees of the Sugar Plum Daycare, and a parent that was picking up their kid.
Gradients
I clicked on a tutorial with Gradients. It showed me the different things you could do to add to them. I experimented with it and here's my end result:
I made a sweep gradient. I made some new color stops, and moved them around. And I layered a few different gradients with different color settings.
